I think that using a blog has succeeded in its initial goal because reflecting has helped me think more about what I'm actually doing in the class. It has helped me realize what I need to improve on. Sometimes I feel myself not really thinking about the reflection and more about how I have to do the reflection for a grade. Also I like that in some of the blog posts I got to say my opinion on things and it made me think more about how I feel. Reflecting is a good thing because I look back at these blogs and see how I have improved over the course of time. Also when reflecting I can look back at my successes and struggles and consider what I could change. Overall Blogging is a very positive thing because I can look back at it and it also makes me realize things that I didn't before.

So far I have had to look up at least twenty different tutorials just to figure out how to make an enemy chase you on unity. Scripting can be extremely confusing if you don't know how to do it. So, far I have a island and on this island is a skeleton. This skeleton can chase you, but i'm still trying to get him to chase you and then attack. Also i'm trying to add a health bar, but I can't figure out how to subtract health when the skeleton hits you.
The assets store has thousands and thousands of things you could use to make your game. I find the asset store to be very useful. The asset store is especially useful for beginners, like me because if you don't know how to animate yet people have pre made thousands of animations that you could use in your game. Also if you need a zebra, but you don't know how to make one, then you could just use an asset.
Making my own game is a lot harder than I thought. It would be even harder if I wasn't allowed to use the assets store. It made me realize what really goes on in an actual video game. You can't just make a dog, but you also have to make multiple animations for that dog and have multiple sounds for that dog. Also scripting is still very hard, but watching tutorials on youtube has really helped me. Making my own game has really made me realize the amount of effort that is put to even the most simplistic games.
I love the idea of blueprints because it will make writing code a lot easier. In Unity i'm still pretty confused about scripting, but if UE4 will make it a little easier, then I open to trying it. I looked on their website and they said blueprints enable anyone to rapidly prototype and build playable content without touching a line of code. Also you can use blueprints to author level, object and gameplay behaviors, modify user interface, adjust input controls and so much more. Also Blueprint visual scripting comes with a built-in debugger you can use to interactively visualize gameplay flow and inspect property values while testing your game. Freeze the game at any time and audit its state by setting breakpoints on individual nodes in your Blueprint graphs. Step through actions and events, make changes as you like, and have fun optimizing your game on the fly. i would love to try blueprint scripting because it sounds like it can make it a little easier for people who don't understand code that well.
